Type Locality and Naming

Named after the village of Akrobat, Southwest Gissar. M.R. Jalilov, 1968 (190, p.43). Stratotype at the western part of the village of Akrobat, on the left slope of the Modun River valley. Upper most formation in the Akrabat Horizon, Adamtash Gr.

Synonym: Akrabatskaya Suite, Акрабатская св., Akbrat Fm? , Acrabat Fm


Lithology and Thickness

Clays, marls light-gray with layers of shell limestones. Thickness 57-130m.


Lithology Pattern:

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Modun Fm (Pachkamar Fm)

Upper contact

Conformably overlain by the Kattakamish Fm.

Regional extent

Southwest Gissar, Babatag Ridge. X.X. Mirkamalov et al. increase the span of the suite at the expense of the upper part of the Modun Fm (56; 190; 300; 383; 446; 452).
